Education

DRITA School is a Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" teacher training school.

The educational process at Drita School is provided on three levels:

  • Compulsory general educational minimum based on the syllabus of the Ministry of Education;
  • Teaching beyond the necessary minimum and creation of conditions for applying knowledge in different practical situations;
  • Understanding and addressing the individual interests and abilities of the students.

The work and process are structured in such a way that it suits the following requirements:

  • Competitive education;
  • High criteria of control and assessment;
  • Various techniques and methods of teachingq use of new technologies - Jumpido, Envision, etc.;
  • Interdisciplinary connections;
  • Obligatory acquirement of the school’s academic minimum (if a student’s results are below Very good 4.50, the student works after classes with the teachers individually, until the problem is solved);
  • School tests at the end of the term and the school year;
  • Individual extra work with students, who show results higher than average;
  • External assesment;
  • Individual and group work on school projects and research work (at least twice a year);
  • Providing possibilities for communication and interaction with peers and teachers.

Foreign language teaching is central to students’ learning. The main foreign language taught from the kindergarten to the 12th grade is English. At the end of every school year the students apply for the Anglia Examination Syndicate test of English, Chichester College, Great Britain.

At “Drita” we appreciate the contacts and good communication with the parents of our students (individual and class parent-teacher conferences, regular written reports, constant contact). Led by our shared aims we assure timely feedback for the benefit of the child’s development.

The process of education and upbringing is accomplished according to the school system. Motivation of the students, abilities for self-control, as well as appropriate social behaviour are achieved by means of clearly formulated and well-grounded rights, obligations, privileges and sanctions.
